Firozpur Feeder Project Gains Momentum: Rajasthan and Punjab Join Forces to Boost Canal Irrigation

In a major step toward revitalizing northwestern India’s agrarian infrastructure, Rajasthan and Punjab have jointly advanced the Rs. 647.62 crore Firozpur Feeder Reconstruction Project. The initiative aims to enhance the Gang Canal irrigation network that serves over 3.14 lakh hectares in Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts. The project, approved by the Central Water Commission, will expand the feeder’s capacity and reduce water loss to Pakistan.

India’s Horticulture Output Rises Nearly 4% in 2024–25, Driven by Strong Fruit and Vegetable Yields

India’s Domestic Air Travel Grows Modestly in May; IndiGo Retains Market Dominance

India’s domestic aviation sector posted a modest growth of 1.89% in May 2025, with total passenger traffic reaching 140.56 lakh, according to data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Market leader IndiGo maintained its stronghold with a 64% share, flying over 93 lakh passengers. Air India Group followed with 26.5% market share. Akasa Air and SpiceJet accounted for smaller fractions, at 5.3% and 2.4%, respectively. The report also highlighted operational performance, with IndiGo leading in on-time departures at 84%.
