Surge in Khadi and Village Industry Growth: A Reflection of India's Economic Resilience

The growth of Khadi and village industry products in India has witnessed an impressive surge over the past decade, with sales climbing from Rs 31,154.19 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 1,70,551.37 crore in 2024-25. This marks an astounding increase of 447%. Additionally, the production of Khadi items also rose substantially, with a 347% increase in the last 11 years. The sector has generated significant employment, with nearly 1.94 crore individuals now employed compared to 1.30 crore in 2013-14.
