ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has announced the full commissioning of its 300 MW Sikar Solar project in Rajasthan, following the activation of the final 60 MW on Monday. This milestone lifts the company’s operational capacity to 2,890 MW. Situated on 1,300 acres in Bikaner, the Sikar plant is expected to generate approximately 780 million units of clean energy annually. In a parallel development, ACME also completed its first 50 MW wind energy project in Gujarat during the current quarter. The twin achievements highlight ACME’s expanding footprint in India’s renewable energy landscape and its growing diversification across energy platforms.
Full Commissioning of 300 MW Sikar Solar Plant
ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has successfully completed the commissioning of its 300 MW solar project in Sikar, Rajasthan, marking a critical expansion in its renewable energy footprint. This final stage, involving the commissioning of an additional 60 MW on Monday, follows the earlier deployment of 240 MW capacity earlier this quarter.
The Sikar project is situated on approximately 1,300 acres in Bikaner, a region recognized for receiving some of the highest solar irradiation levels in India. The facility is connected to the Bikaner II substation at 220 kV, ensuring seamless grid integration and efficient power transmission.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate around 780 million units (MUs) of solar power annually—enough to significantly offset carbon emissions and contribute to India’s renewable energy goals.
Competitive Tariff and Regulatory Endorsement
The Sikar project was awarded to ACME under the SECI-ISTS XVIII scheme at a tariff of Rs. 3.05 per unit. This rate has been formally adopted by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), paving the way for long-term revenue visibility.
A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project is expected to be finalized shortly, which will further cement the project's financial and operational viability. The tariff structure places the project within a competitive pricing framework for solar energy procurement, enhancing its attractiveness to utilities and corporate buyers alike.
Inaugural Wind Project Commissioned in Gujarat
In addition to its solar milestone, ACME also achieved a major breakthrough in wind energy by fully commissioning its first wind power project— a 50 MW plant located in Shapar, Gujarat. The final turbine, adding 3.3 MW, was brought online this quarter, completing the project.
The wind farm is sited in one of India's highest wind potential zones and is backed by a 25-year PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). Developed entirely through ACME’s in-house Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) capabilities, the wind project underscores the company’s strategic diversification into multi-technology renewable assets.
This diversification not only expands ACME’s energy portfolio but also signals a maturing of its execution capacity across varied renewable platforms.
A Rapidly Growing Renewable Portfolio
With the addition of these projects, ACME Solar's operational capacity has reached 2,890 MW, positioning the company as one of India's leading integrated renewable energy developers. Beyond its current operations, an additional 4,080 MW of capacity is under various stages of development, spanning solar, wind, firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE), and hybrid formats.
ACME’s total portfolio now stands at 6,970 MW, underlining the company's ambition to scale sustainably and align with India’s national targets of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
