AstraZeneca Pharma India Withdraws Marketing Authorization for Prostate Cancer Drug Olaparib Due to Commercial Viability

AstraZeneca Pharma India Ltd has officially surrendered the marketing authorization for Olaparib (Lynparza) 100mg and 150mg tablets in India, a drug used in the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. The decision, attributed solely to commercial considerations, does not reflect concerns regarding the drug’s efficacy or safety. Despite securing regulatory approval in November 2023, the company clarified that the drug was never launched in the Indian market.
