Spanish biopharmaceutical firm Biofabri and India’s Bharat Biotech have entered into a strategic partnership to develop and commercialize a next-generation vaccine for tuberculosis, marking a significant step in global public health collaboration. The alliance aims to combine Biofabri’s advanced vaccine technology with Bharat Biotech’s large-scale manufacturing and distribution capabilities. Experts say the partnership could accelerate access to an effective TB vaccine, particularly in high-burden countries.

In a major stride toward combating antimicrobial resistance and severe bacterial infections, Bharat Biotech has entered into a strategic partnership with British pharmaceutical giant GSK plc to co-develop a pioneering vaccine for Shigellosis. The candidate, known as altSonflex1-2-3, is among the most advanced globally and is being developed using GSK’s cutting-edge GMMA platform. Bharat Biotech will oversee Phase 3 clinical trials, regulatory progression, and commercial-scale production.
