Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh has entered India’s growing network of clean energy infrastructure with the official launch of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) services. The development marks a major step toward reducing the region’s carbon footprint while providing residents and industries with a cost-effective, reliable, and eco-friendly fuel alternative. The new network, part of India’s nationwide City Gas Distribution (CGD) expansion initiative, aligns with the government’s broader goal of achieving a sustainable energy transition.

In a strategic move to enhance rural income and promote self-sufficiency in the dairy sector, Bilaspur district has announced the establishment of 101 new milk cooperative societies. The initiative aims to strengthen the local dairy value chain by encouraging grassroots participation, particularly from women and small-scale farmers. Backed by state-led development schemes, these cooperatives are expected to ensure fair pricing, efficient milk collection, and access to veterinary and logistical support.
