The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has revoked the banking licence of Ahmedabad-based Colour Merchants Co-operative Bank due to insufficient capital and earning potential. The decision follows the bank's failure to meet the regulatory standards of the Banking Regulation Act. As a result, the bank will be liquidated, and depositors are entitled to insurance claims up to Rs 5 lakh, with the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) handling the payouts.
