GHCL Ltd., one of India’s leading soda ash manufacturers, has petitioned the government to impose anti-dumping duties on soda ash imports, citing concerns over price undercutting and unfair trade practices. The company alleges that imported soda ash, particularly from certain countries, is being sold at prices below domestic production costs, threatening local manufacturers’ profitability and market share. Soda ash is a critical input for glass, detergent, and chemical industries, making domestic production strategically important.
