In its 10th edition of the HCLTech Grant, HCL Foundation has announced a Rs. 5 crore initiative to support three non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in the fields of environment, health, and education. These grants aim to catalyze positive change in diverse areas, including biodiversity conservation, the fight against childhood blindness, and the promotion of inclusive education. This commitment highlights HCL Foundation's ongoing dedication to corporate social responsibility and its goal of making a tangible difference in India’s rural and underserved communities. Since its launch in 2011, the foundation has awarded over Rs. 152 crore to numerous impactful projects.

HCL Foundation’s Grant Strategy: Empowering NGOs with Rs. 5 Crore in Support

HCL Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of HCLTech, has reinforced its commitment to social development by awarding Rs. 5 crore in grants to three leading NGOs as part of its 10th edition of the HCLTech Grant. These grants are intended to support vital initiatives focused on environmental conservation, healthcare, and educational empowerment across India. The foundation has garnered significant interest, with more than 13,925 NGOs registering for this year’s grant cycle, showcasing the scale of the initiative and the depth of need in India’s nonprofit sector.

A Closer Look at the Awarded Projects

  1. Lokamata Rani Rashmoni Mission – Biodiversity Conservation for Livelihood Enhancement

One of the standout beneficiaries is the Lokamata Rani Rashmoni Mission, which will receive funding for its “Conservation of Biodiversity for Life and Livelihood” project. This initiative, which will span 40 villages in West Bengal, is focused on sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation. Through this project, the mission aims to promote environmentally friendly farming techniques while enhancing local livelihoods, particularly for women. By aligning conservation efforts with the economic needs of rural communities, the project supports both ecological sustainability and social empowerment.

  1. Gurupriya Vision Research Foundation – Combating Childhood Blindness

Another major recipient, Gurupriya Vision Research Foundation, has been awarded the grant to fund its “Vision on Wheels” initiative. This program is designed to eradicate childhood blindness caused by retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) across over 10,000 villages in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The initiative will provide mobile eye care services, screenings, and treatments, aiming to prevent blindness and improve the quality of life for thousands of children. By targeting ROP, a leading cause of blindness in premature infants, this project seeks to make long-lasting strides in healthcare accessibility and child welfare.

  1. Raised Lines Foundation – Inclusive Education through Tactile Resources

Raised Lines Foundation will receive support for its “Touch Learn and Shine” project, which focuses on inclusive education for children with visual impairments. This initiative will reach over 38,400 villages nationwide, providing tactile resources that enable visually impaired children to access educational materials. By creating a more accessible learning environment, the foundation aims to empower visually impaired students, giving them the opportunity to achieve academic success and lead more independent lives.

The Competitive Selection Process and Broader Impact

HCL Foundation’s commitment to social change is reflected in the competitive selection process for the HCLTech Grant. This year, the foundation received an overwhelming number of applications, with 13,925 NGOs vying for support. Of these, the three awarded projects were selected based on their alignment with the foundation’s goals and their potential for scalable impact.

In addition to the three primary winners, six runner-up organizations in each category will receive Rs. 25 lakh grants to continue their important work. This expanded support underscores the foundation’s broad vision of social change, where multiple organizations are given the resources to extend their reach and influence.

A Legacy of Social Responsibility: HCL Foundation’s Impact Over the Years

Since its inception in 2011, HCL Foundation has made substantial contributions to India’s development landscape. With a total of over Rs. 152.8 crore awarded to 59 projects across 142 districts, the foundation has played a key role in driving social change in critical areas such as education, healthcare, and environmental conservation. Through the HCLTech Grant, the foundation has consistently supported NGOs working on the ground, helping them scale their operations and expand their impact.

This latest round of grants is just another example of HCL Foundation’s ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between corporate success and societal needs. By focusing on education, health, and the environment, the foundation aims to address some of the most pressing challenges facing India’s underserved communities, especially in rural areas.

Conclusion: HCL Foundation’s Continued Commitment to Transformative Change

The announcement of Rs. 5 crore in grants for this year’s HCLTech Grant recipients demonstrates HCL Foundation’s sustained commitment to creating positive social impact. Through its partnerships with Lokamata Rani Rashmoni Mission, Gurupriya Vision Research Foundation, and Raised Lines Foundation, the foundation is directly contributing to biodiversity conservation, healthcare accessibility, and inclusive education—three pillars that are vital for sustainable development in India.

By empowering NGOs and supporting high-impact projects, HCL Foundation continues to set the bar for corporate social responsibility in India. With its proven track record and unwavering focus on improving the lives of millions, the foundation is poised to remain a catalyst for transformative change across the country.
