Maruti Suzuki Commits Rs 925 Crore to Solar Power Expansion in Pursuit of Green Manufacturing Goals

Maruti Suzuki India has unveiled a robust renewable energy roadmap, committing over Rs 925 crore to increase its captive solar power capacity to 319 megawatt-peak (MWp) by fiscal year 2030–31. This strategic investment underlines the auto manufacturer’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and aligning with both India’s renewable energy ambitions and Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global environmental goals. Recent projects include a 20MWp solar plant in Kharkhoda and a 10MWp expansion at Manesar, raising Maruti's solar capacity from 49MWp to 79MWp in just one year.

Maruti Suzuki's Quarterly Profits Dip Amid Rising Costs, Shares Take a Hit

Shares of Maruti Suzuki India fell nearly 2% on Friday after the company reported a slight decline in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2025. Despite a year-on-year decline of 1% in profits, the auto giant's total revenue rose by 6.5% compared to the previous year. The company attributed the profit dip to an increase in expenses, which surged by over 8% during the period.

Suzuki & Maruti Launch Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence to Revolutionize Indian Manufacturing

In a tribute to the late Osamu Suzuki, former Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Maruti Suzuki India and its Japanese parent company have announced the establishment of the Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence (OSCOE) in India. Set to be located in Gujarat and Haryana, the initiative is designed to elevate Indian manufacturing by incorporating globally competitive standards and the revered Japanese manufacturing philosophy. OSCOE will focus on capacity building across industries—beyond the automotive sector—through academia-industry collaboration.
