In a decisive step toward strengthening India's grid infrastructure, GE Vernova announced an investment of Rs. 140 crore through GE Vernova T&D India Ltd., its listed entity in the country. The capital infusion will be directed toward enhancing manufacturing and engineering operations at key facilities in Chennai and Noida.

This initiative marks a significant stride in supporting India’s ambition to modernize its transmission systems while also reinforcing the nation’s growing stature as a manufacturing base for advanced grid technologies. The expansions will target high-value, complex technologies including High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS). HVDC and FACTS technologies are instrumental in transmitting electricity efficiently over long distances, especially from remote renewable generation sites to high-demand urban and industrial centers. A new production line is slated for development at the existing facility in Pallavaram, Chennai, while a new manufacturing unit is planned for Noida.
