Transrail Lighting, a Mumbai-headquartered EPC major in the power transmission and infrastructure space, reported a stellar financial performance for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The company registered a 27% year-on-year growth in Q4 consolidated net profit to Rs. 126.57 crore, propelled by a sharp rise in operational revenues. Full-year profits surged over 40% to Rs. 327 crore, underscoring Transrail’s operational resilience and strategic focus. With a 44% increase in its unexecuted order book and substantial new orders from the transmission and distribution sector, the company enters FY26 with renewed momentum and a bullish industry outlook.
Strong Financial Performance in FY25
Transrail Lighting reported impressive top- and bottom-line growth for both the fourth quarter and the full financial year, reflecting robust demand and efficient execution across its core business segments.
In the January–March 2025 quarter, consolidated net profit rose to Rs. 126.57 crore, up from Rs. 99.72 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY24—a 27% increase. This improvement was driven by a significant 40% rise in operational revenue, which jumped to Rs. 1,946.02 crore from Rs. 1,392.41 crore year-over-year.
For the entire fiscal year, net profit climbed over 40% to Rs. 327 crore, compared to Rs. 233 crore reported in FY24. Annual revenues also saw a strong 30% rise, reaching Rs. 5,307.75 crore, up from Rs. 4,076.52 crore the previous year.
Operational Efficiencies and Strategic Execution
Transrail’s Managing Director and CEO, Randeep Narang, credited the record performance to disciplined operational execution and a continued focus on core competencies. “We closed FY25 with excellent performance across all key operational parameters, marked by strong revenue growth, benchmark margins, and record order inflows,” Narang stated. He added that the company’s sustained emphasis on operational excellence has been crucial in maintaining its growth trajectory.
This disciplined approach has allowed Transrail to expand margins while maintaining competitive execution across diverse infrastructure domains, including civil works, electrification, and lighting projects.
Record Order Inflows and Expanding Pipeline
One of the year’s most significant developments was the surge in order inflows. During Q4 FY25 alone, Transrail secured new contracts worth Rs. 4,965 crore, largely from the transmission and distribution (T&D) vertical. Cumulatively, the company bagged orders worth Rs. 9,680 crore throughout FY25.
As of March 31, 2025, the unexecuted order book stood at a formidable Rs. 14,551 crore, representing a 44% year-on-year increase. This pipeline provides high revenue visibility and underpins confidence in the company’s outlook for FY26 and beyond.
The T&D segment remains Transrail’s primary revenue driver, and the company continues to consolidate its market position through timely execution and value-driven partnerships.
Global Reach and Sectoral Diversification
With a footprint spanning 59 countries, Transrail Lighting has evolved into a global infrastructure player with a comprehensive portfolio. The company has completed over 200 projects in power transmission and distribution alone and possesses end-to-end capabilities in material supply, including in-house manufacturing.
Its diversified presence in civil infrastructure, railway electrification, poles, and lighting reinforces operational stability and positions the firm to capture upcoming public and private sector investments in infrastructure.
Given India’s push for power sector modernization and electrification, along with international infrastructure development opportunities, Transrail is well-positioned to benefit from both domestic and global tailwinds.
Looking Ahead: FY26 and Sectoral Outlook
Entering FY26, Transrail Lighting is buoyed by a strong order backlog, an expanding client base, and favorable policy support for energy infrastructure. The company expects continued traction in the T&D segment, bolstered by investments in grid modernization and rural electrification.
With strategic diversification, robust financial fundamentals, and a growing global presence, Transrail is emerging as a formidable force in the EPC space. Its FY25 performance not only underscores operational excellence but also signals long-term sustainability in a highly competitive sector.
