India Mandates Acoustic Vehicle Alert Systems in Electric Vehicles by 2027 to Enhance Road Safety

The Indian government has announced a landmark regulation mandating Acoustic Vehicle Alert Systems (AVAS) in all new electric passenger and goods vehicles by October 1, 2026, with existing models required to comply by October 1, 2027.
