Ultraviolette Charges into Europe: Indian EV Maker Eyes Global Dominance with F77 Lineup

Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle innovator Ultraviolette has announced its entry into the European market with the launch of its flagship F77 MACH 2 and F77 SuperStreet models. This strategic move marks the company’s first major push into international territories as it targets generating up to 35% of its revenue from exports by 2028. With Europe chosen for its mature motorcycling culture and stringent regulatory standards, Ultraviolette plans to export fully built units from India and expand through regional distributors. Long-term plans include tapping markets in Southeast Asia and Latin America, as the company steadily moves toward global scalability.

India’s Premium EV Maker Goes Global

Ultraviolette, a premium electric two-wheeler manufacturer headquartered in Bengaluru, has initiated its international expansion strategy with the formal launch of its high-performance electric motorcycles in Europe. The announcement, made on Monday, underscores the company’s ambition to become a globally recognized mobility brand, beginning with some of the most competitive markets in the world.

The newly introduced F77 MACH 2 and F77 SuperStreet models will now be available across ten European nations, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. These are fully built units (CBUs) manufactured in India and distributed regionally by European partners.

Why Europe? A Strategic First Step

Ultraviolette’s decision to begin its global rollout in Europe is not coincidental. Europe’s deep-rooted motorcycling culture, combined with an emphasis on design, innovation, and sustainability, makes it an ideal starting point for an electric vehicle (EV) brand focused on performance and aesthetics.

“We were clear from day one: this isn’t just an Indian brand—we are building something for the world,” said Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette. “Component selection, software architecture, and design philosophy were all crafted with international markets in mind.”

The stringent regulatory environment in Europe also served as a catalyst. European certification standards, among the toughest globally, now allow the company to retail its products across 40 countries, giving Ultraviolette a strong base for accelerated global deployment.

Revenue Outlook and Export Targets

Ultraviolette’s foray into Europe is not merely symbolic—it is integral to the company’s financial strategy. Subramaniam revealed that 2025 will serve as a “pilot year” for gauging demand and refining market operations across the continent. By 2028, the company aims to derive between 30% and 35% of its total revenue from overseas markets.

This export-oriented growth strategy is especially crucial as India’s EV sector remains in its nascent stage, with infrastructure and consumer adoption evolving gradually. Tapping mature international markets could provide Ultraviolette both stability and scale.

Expansion Beyond Europe: A Global Roadmap

While Europe represents the first major step, Ultraviolette’s global ambitions extend well beyond the continent. Once it consolidates its presence and builds brand equity in Europe, the company plans to enter Southeast Asia and Latin America—regions known for robust two-wheeler demand and a growing appetite for sustainable transportation.

Subramaniam acknowledged the potential need for local assembly plants in the future, depending on scale and regulatory developments. “At a certain point in time, once our scale builds up, we would have to look at a little more localisation,” he noted.

For now, however, tax relaxations for EV imports into Europe make full exports from India economically viable and strategically sound.

The F77 Lineup: Tech-Driven, Performance-Focused

Ultraviolette’s F77 lineup stands out for its performance metrics and futuristic design. Both variants are equipped with a 10.3 kWh battery pack capable of delivering a peak power output of 30 kW. The motorcycles can accelerate from 0 to 60 kilometers per hour in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 155 km/h—specs that place them firmly in the performance segment of electric motorcycles globally.

With these models, the company is not merely participating in the EV revolution—it’s seeking to define what a performance electric motorcycle can and should be.

Conclusion: Made in India, Built for the World

Ultraviolette’s entry into Europe marks a significant milestone not just for the company, but for India’s growing credibility as a hub for high-quality electric mobility solutions. By blending cutting-edge design, performance engineering, and global vision, the firm is positioning itself as a serious contender in the international EV market.

As global demand for clean, high-performance mobility rises, Ultraviolette's bold step onto the European stage may well set the tone for India's broader automotive ambitions. For now, all eyes are on the F77 as it hits European roads, carrying with it the aspirations of a homegrown brand ready to take on the world.
