On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet gave its approval for a major infrastructure project aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the Zirakpur and Panchkula regions. The Rs 1,878.31 crore Zirakpur Bypass road project, which will stretch 19.2 kilometers across Punjab and Haryana, will offer smoother connectivity and reduce travel time for commuters. Set to be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode, the project will consist of a six-lane access-controlled highway, enhancing traffic flow along key routes like NH-7, NH-5, and NH-152, and facilitating smoother travel to Himachal Pradesh.
