Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par Opens Softly at the Box Office, Hopes Pinned on Word-of-Mouth Surge

Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par hit cinemas on Friday, June 20, and its box office debut suggests a measured start rather than a blockbuster opening. Directed by RS Prasanna and positioned as a spiritual successor to Taare Zameen Par, the film garnered Rs. 4.76 crore on its first day. Despite significant advance booking and high expectations for Khan’s return to the silver screen, the initial numbers fell short of projections.
