Sensex and Nifty Slide as Foreign Investors Pull Out Funds Amid Global Volatility

Indian equity markets witnessed a sharp decline on Friday, with both the Sensex and Nifty tumbling as sustained foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows weighed heavily on sentiment. The benchmark Sensex plunged over 630 points to settle near 82,680, while the Nifty 50 slipped around 185 points to close at 25,325. Despite steady domestic institutional investor (DII) inflows, the exodus of foreign funds, coupled with weak global cues and profit-booking in heavyweight sectors, dampened investor confidence and sparked a broad-based selloff across the bourses.

Astronomers Uncover Elusive Tail Behind Spiral Galaxy M61, Offering New Clues to Cosmic Evolution

In a breakthrough that deepens our understanding of galaxy behavior and interstellar dynamics, astronomers have identified a faint, previously undetected tail trailing behind the spiral galaxy M61. The discovery sheds light on the impact of environmental forces on galactic structure, particularly within dense galaxy clusters. Analysts believe this tail likely formed due to ram-pressure stripping — a process where gas is pushed out of a galaxy as it moves through hot intergalactic material.
