The Indian Economic Trade Organisation (IETO) has inaugurated the Myanmar Trade Council in Karnataka, aiming to bolster economic and commercial ties between India and Myanmar. The council will serve as a strategic platform for businesses, investors, and policymakers to explore bilateral trade opportunities, facilitate investment flows, and enhance sectoral cooperation. Officials highlighted that the initiative is expected to strengthen regional connectivity, promote exports and imports, and create avenues for joint ventures in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and services.
