A horrifying incident in Madhya Pradesh has turned the festive spirit of Diwali into a nightmare as over 300 people sustained eye injuries and at least 23 are feared to lose their vision after using carbide-based guns during celebrations. These improvised devices, often used to create loud blasts in lieu of firecrackers, exploded unexpectedly, causing severe facial and ocular damage. Hospitals across several districts, including Indore and Ujjain, are overwhelmed with patients seeking emergency treatment.

Madhya Pradesh has successfully garnered investment proposals totaling Rs 15,606 crore from Punjab-based companies, following an interactive session led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The event, attended by over 400 delegates from diverse sectors including textiles, engineering, and auto parts, highlighted the state’s business-friendly policies, infrastructure strengths, and attractive incentives. Key industrial players such as Trident Group and Ralson Tyres committed significant capital, promising to generate over 20,000 jobs.
