India’s railway infrastructure is entering a transformative phase with the inauguration of the country’s largest automobile Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant. This state-of-the-art facility, featuring a high-capacity rail link and a 4.5 lakh vehicle per annum loading capacity, is set to redefine automotive logistics. At the same event, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled sweeping operational reforms and expansion plans—from augmenting MEMU trains to expanding Namo Bharat and Amrit Bharat fleets.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has entered into a strategic partnership with ESAF Small Finance Bank to broaden the reach of its vehicle financing options across India’s underserved regions. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, aims to offer affordable, flexible financing solutions for new cars, used cars, and commercial vehicles—particularly for first-time buyers in Tier II and Tier III cities.

Maruti Suzuki India is set to introduce a pioneering financing scheme aimed at making it easier for existing customers to upgrade to its popular Grand Vitara SUV. The scheme offers affordable EMIs of Rs. 9,999 per month—nearly 20% lower than traditional financing options. In addition, the initiative allows customers to return the vehicle after 5 years or 75,000 km at an assured value of 50% of the car's price. Initially launching in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, the program could be extended to more models, including the upcoming e-VITARA, if successful.

Maruti Suzuki India has achieved a landmark in automotive logistics by dispatching 5.18 lakh vehicles via Indian Railways in the fiscal year 2024-25, marking its highest volume to date. Since initiating rail-based vehicle transportation in 2013, the company has cumulatively moved around 24 lakh vehicles through this eco-friendly channel. Serving over 600 cities from more than 20 rail hubs and utilizing key ports for exports, Maruti Suzuki continues to prioritize sustainability.

Maruti Suzuki India registered a 3% year-on-year increase in total sales in May 2025, reaching 1,80,077 units, driven predominantly by a significant rise in exports. Despite this overall growth, domestic passenger vehicle sales declined by 6%, highlighting a nuanced demand landscape. Mini and compact segment sales slipped notably, while utility vehicles and commercial vans showed resilience. Export volumes nearly doubled, underscoring Maruti Suzuki’s expanding global footprint.
