Rama Telecom, a growing player in telecom infrastructure and engineering solutions, has opened its Rs. 25.13-crore initial public offering (IPO) for subscription on the NSE SME platform Emerge. The issue, entirely a fresh offering of 36.96 lakh equity shares priced between Rs. 65 and Rs. 68 per share, will remain open until June 27. The capital raised will be allocated toward capital expenditure, working capital, and strategic technology upgrades. With strong capabilities in fiber deployment, SCADA integration, and telecom systems, the company seeks to scale its participation in projects such as FTTH, railway communications, and the national Kavach system.

IPO Structure and Subscription Details

Rama Telecom’s IPO comprises a fresh issue of 36.96 lakh equity shares with a face value of Rs. 10 each, offered in a price band of Rs. 65 to Rs. 68 per share. At the upper end of the range, the company expects to raise approximately Rs. 25.13 crore.

Investors can bid in lots of 2,000 shares or multiples thereof, aligning with the typical norms of SME offerings on the NSE Emerge platform, where the stock will be listed post-issue.

Affinity Global Capital Market has been appointed as the book-running lead manager, while Cameo Corporate Services will serve as the registrar.

Strategic Use of Proceeds

According to the company’s statement, the net proceeds from the IPO will be directed toward:

  • Capital Expenditure: Investment in infrastructure and equipment to strengthen execution capabilities.
  • Working Capital: Enhancing liquidity to support ongoing and new contracts.
  • General Corporate Purposes: Operational efficiency and corporate development initiatives.

Rama Telecom Managing Director Rama Kant Lakhotia emphasized that the funds will facilitate equipment upgrades and support the company’s engagement in national-scale projects. “This capital raise will empower us to scale operations and adopt advanced technologies that are essential for strategic initiatives such as Kavach, FTTH deployments, and SCADA network integrations,” he said.

Core Competencies and Project Engagements

Rama Telecom has carved a niche in telecom infrastructure services, offering end-to-end solutions including:

  • Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) deployment
  • Railway telecommunications
  • FTTH (Fiber to the Home) installations
  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems
  • Network commissioning and maintenance

Its engagement in critical public and private sector infrastructure projects positions the company as a key contributor to India’s digital connectivity ambitions. Notably, its involvement in the Kavach system, an indigenous automatic train protection initiative by Indian Railways, reflects its growing relevance in mission-critical technology solutions.

Financial Performance and Market Outlook

In FY25, Rama Telecom posted a revenue of Rs. 41.75 crore and a profit after tax of Rs. 5.53 crore, indicating a healthy bottom-line margin and operational strength for an SME-level telecom firm.

As India accelerates investments in digital infrastructure, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities, and ramps up railway modernization and smart city programs, firms like Rama Telecom are poised to benefit. The integration of next-generation technologies like SCADA and FTTH will further increase demand for specialized engineering and implementation services.

Final Outlook

Rama Telecom’s IPO arrives at a time when telecom infrastructure is receiving policy and capital tailwinds in India. With a clearly defined growth strategy, niche technical capabilities, and a strong project pipeline, the capital infusion is expected to bolster its competitive edge in a rapidly evolving sector.

Investors in the SME space looking for exposure to digital infrastructure and railway modernization may find the offering strategically timed. The company’s ability to scale while maintaining profitability will be critical to its long-term performance in the public market.
