PwC Sees India on Track to Meet FY26 Fiscal Deficit Target

India is well positioned to achieve its fiscal deficit target for FY26, according to a recent assessment by PwC, which cited improving revenue buoyancy, disciplined expenditure management, and sustained economic growth. The consultancy noted that steady tax collections, aided by formalisation and digital compliance, have strengthened the government’s fiscal position. At the same time, calibrated capital spending and rationalisation of subsidies are helping contain deficits without undermining growth.
