The Indian government has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop 50 new airports over the next five years, signaling a bold push to enhance the nation’s aviation ecosystem. With the number of operational airports having surged from 74 in 2014 to 159 today, the upcoming initiatives are set to further boost the sector's growth. Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam confirmed the focus on comprehensive development, which will include building new airports and upgrading existing ones.
